Composition on Four

Ramanujacharya composed the following chant (shloka) in recognition of the places,

"Sriranga mangala manim karunanivasam

Srivenkatadri shikharalaya kalamegham

Srihastishaila shikharojwala parijatam

Srisham namami shirasa yadushaila deepam".

Translation 1

1. The main deity in Srirangam is in a sleeping posture and hence the place is called "Bhoga Mantapam" (House of relaxation). 
2. Thirumalai is called "Pushpa Mantapam" (House of flowers) as the deity is always decorated with flowers. 
3. Kanchipuram is known as "Thyaga Mantapam" (House of relinquishment) as the main deity bestows the devotees. 
4. Thirunarayanapuram is known as "Gnana Mantapam" (House of Knowledge) as the main deity radiates knowledge.

Translation 2 

1. Sriranganatha in Srirangam is, divine, crystal pure, kind to all | 
2. Sri Srinivasa living on the Mount of Tirumalai, shines like dark clouds | 
3. Sri Varadaraja shines as a Parijatha flower lives at Kanchi known as Hastishaila | 
4. Sri Narayana at Tirunarayanapuram is Lord of wealth, and a beacon of light at Yadushaila  

Translation 3 

1. The Lord’s gait (nade) at Srirangam, 
2. The Lord’s patty (Vade) at Tirupathi, 
3. The Lord’s Umbrella (kode) at Kanchi, 
4. The Lord’s Crown (mudi) at Melukote, are all very famous.
